It could have been that. I also read that he had an immune system disorder, so maybe it was to protect him from germs when out in public.

I think it was when there was a world epidemic of Swine Flu…yeah, he wanted to protect himself…who wouldn’t…and previously like in 2003 or something, when he wore a mask, it was because he had UNFORTUNATELY had a nose job….there was a plaster across his nose…
If you were one of the most famous celebritie’s in the world, wouldn’t you want something covering you up when you went in public? I mean aren’t people entitled to at least a little bit of privacy?
It is because, like sunglasses, he feels he gets some privacy when wearing it. When he was younger he got some teeth extracted and has to wear a mask just like the ones he has worn more recently, and he really liked it. I think he continues to wear it because that’s how he feels comfortable when under the media spotlight.
