What is the most convenient area to stay near Disney World?

We will be going to Disney World for 4 days & 4 nights, Sunday through Wednesday preceding Thanksgiving. We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We will be visiting Animal Kingdom, MGM, Epcot, & Magic Kingdom and we will have a rental car. I can find a hotel using Trip Adviser, but I can not figure out which location is the most convenient area or the nicest area to stay. Also, if you would like to suggest a hotel, then we need one with breakfast in internet. Thanks!

The best place to stay when visiting Walt Disney World is on Disney Property.
From $82 per night, the hotel prices are surprisingly comparable to off-property hotels, but they come with a slew of added benefits: For starters, you can ditch the rental car if you plan to only visit the Disney parks, because they operate "Disney’s Magical Express", a free shuttle service to take you from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World, and back again at the conclusion of your vacation. While you’re on property, the extensive Disney Resort Transportation will take you wherever you want to go within the Walt Disney World Resort.
Additionally, you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, which is either an extra hour in the morning, an extra hour in the evening, or sometimes an extra 3 hours at night, in selected parks on selected days, IF you are staying at a Walt Disney World hotel.
And finally, if you’re going to be eating most of your meals on property, staying in a Walt Disney World resort allows you to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, where you can prepay and save up to 40% on the cost of meals on property.

I would also recommend staying at a Disney World resort. If you can afford it I think the best place to stay is the Boardwalk resort. It’s a very convenient location and well suited to your ages. All the moderate resorts are very nice as well. If you have to stay in a value resort go to Pop Century. The All-Stars tend to be overrun with school groups and even if they’re not all 3 hotels share one bus route, whereas Pop Century has it’s own bus. Staying on Disney property also allows you to have free parking so even if you choose to have a rental car as you said you can save about $50 in parking by staying "on property" so that’s something to consider. If you don’t want to stay in a Disney hotel then there really is no best area. Disney World is the size of a city, so any hotel in the area is going to be pretty much equal. Personally I know when I worked down there I saw many nice hotels adjacent to Downton Disney.
Many people stay off property, but it just doesnt feel like the whole experience of Disney I know many people have told you to stay on property and I recommend it too! But here are some resorts that are located very near to Disney and good hotels!

5 Reasons to Stay in at Disney Good Neighbor Hotels
1.High Standards – For a hotel to be part of the Disney Good Neighbor hotel program, a Disney executive has to come in and inspect the property. To be a Disney Good Neighbor hotel these hotels can only provide shuttle service to Disney World not Universal Studios or Sea World and the only tickets which can be sold in the lobby of these hotels are Disney World tickets.

As a person who has lived in the Orlando area for 40 years and have stayed on Disney property many times – I can tell you that most people will be better off with a rental car. It is true that you can use the bus system to get to anywhere, but it will add up to 2 hours to your day waiting on and traveling around on buses. You can drive anywhere on property in 15 minutes or less, and you will have the option of venturing off property (e.g the Beach, Seaworld, Universal, etc.) without a lot of logistics and planning.
IF you are only there for 4 days and are just doing WDW. STAY at a WDW resort.

Your travel time to the parks, and parking and walking to the gates is really going to eat up a lot of your park time. For a most convenient and fun vacation, stay at Disney

If you’re not staying inside the disney resort, I suggest you stay in Lake Buena Vista/ Kissimmee/Celebration. It’s areas closest to Disney World.I’ve stayed in Kissimmee many times, there’s tons of restaurants and shops in the area.
