The Dark Knight Wikipedia question – What was the Battersea Powerstation used for?
On Wikipedia, its says for The Dark Knight – under the heading ‘Filming’ – (following quote taken from Wikipedia) "The following month in London at the defunct Battersea Power Station, a rigged 200-foot fireball was filmed, reportedly for an opening sequence, prompting calls from local residents who feared a terrorist attack on the station." I wanted to know, where in the film did we see this? Was it for the blue flames when the Batman emblem slowly comes through right at the beginning of the film? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be from either of the buildings that explode where Harvey and Rachel are held.
I know it says opening sequence but that was just speculation before the film’s release and seeing as there is no explosion in the opening we can assume it was either the hospital (which was done in America, so that’s ruled out) or the scene of Harvey’s transformation/Rachel’s death.
This picture here – http://host.trivialbeing.org/up/tdk-12-oct-battersea-explosion.jpg – does look an awful lot like the exterior to either of the aforementioned buildings.
