I’ve often wondered what toddlers and really young children think when they watch "Barney" or "Sesame Street." Does it ever occur to them what exactly Barney is? I mean do they think he is real or they know he is just some guy in a dinosaur costume? Do they ever think why they never see Barney or Big Bird in real life, only on TV?
Actually, a parent once told me that their child loved watching Barney on TV, had all the Barney dolls and everything and once when they had a chance to meet ‘Barney’ at the mall they were terrified even though they knew beforehand that they were going to meet him.
You can probably tell I don’t have children. But I would like some others opinions on this. I watched these shows when I was kid but I honestly don’t remember exactly what I thought.

I have seen musical artists, including Stevie Wonder, Goo Goo Dolls, and REM perform with the Muppets on Sesame Street. Is there a collection on DVD that features these clips. NOT just assorted Sesame Street Music (like "Rubber Duckie.") I have seen these clips on YouTube, but I would like a more professional presentation. Thanks!

Don’t get me wrong, I think its a brilliant show. But they have episodes already for all of the letters and numbers, and more episodes that a kid would watch at the age where he or she would like Sesame Street. Wouldn’t it make financial sense to just show reruns, little kids would never tell the difference.
There’s something ironic about telling someone to use "Common Sence." Obviously you didn’t understand the question.

I thought this article was so ludacris about how sesame street is a bad show and needs revising. i was wondering why does it need revising now and how the show impacted all our lives as we grew up. Anyways its very good and funny.

Here is a fake scenario: Sesame Street gets really bad ratings during the day, so NBC decides to buy it and turn it into a Prime Time drama. Tell me some things that would be going on in the new Sesame Street. (i.e.e drug addictions, affairs etc)
Be creative and funny!

Looking for help with a song. Around the end of the episode there was a different version of the Sesame Street theme song playing.
Does anyone know who sings that version?

FYI i am talking about a late 1970′s early ’80′s TV show (a la sesame street or electric company) not the ’90′s or 2000′s. And i am almost certain it is not a movie. thanks

My son watched Sesame Street a little and really only cause he liked Elmo – my daughter never wanted to watch it – would ignore it if it was on. I miss how it was when I was growing up – it’s not the same. They have such a regimented way of doing it now and I miss certain characters like Snuffy and Barkley and the such…
