anyone know what is the history behind dressing up in costumes on halloween? i’m familiar with history of halloween itself but not the dressing up part. i remember reading when i was a kid that a particular culture celebrated halloween a long time ago by cutting the faces of the dead and wearing them as masks while dancing around a fire. has anyone ever heard this? please include source if possible thank u

I’ve been wondering this for a long time and have done large amounts of research, but can’t find the right answer to my question. I know how the top of a mermaid style dress is made, but I don’t know anything about the bottom (the skirt). Thanks to all who answer!

I’m really excited about a Halloween party I’ve been planning for a long time. I’m going to be a senior this year, so I really want to throw my party and have tons of fun with lots of people there. The thing is, I’m afraid no one will show up and my party will be an epic fail. My guests would be mostly teenagers, so how do I get lots of them to show up?

I will be in the Fort Collins Loveland area in October. I need to replace my old cowgirl boots. I prefer not to spend over 150.00 if possible but may spend a bit more as I do keep them a long time. I like the boots to be more on the feminine side with some detail but not anything extreme as I want them to be versatile. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

I need to have black hair for my Halloween costume, but I don’t want to wear a wig. They are always ratty and frizzy and I want my hair to look good. Is there a product out there that I can use to dye it black that isn’t going to last a long time or ruin my blonde hair?

I just asked a question on bumblebee costumes on Halloween. Many people resonded by saying that babies and toddlers are the ones who mostly wear bumblebee costumes. That reminded me of a song I once knew maybe 10 years ago.
This reminded me of the baby bumblebee song so I asked about that, and wanted to know how it went, it was a long time since I had heard it, like 10 years or so I think.
Someone answered my question by posting this link:

The link said that the song came from Barney and Friends on the top. When did this song appear in one of the episodes, it brings back old memories (15 years or so), but I have no recollection of this song from that show. Any idea when the song appeared?
Not sure if anyone will be able to answer this but, what episode did this song appear in Barney? Where would I look to find out?
Please, no rude comments, just merely curious about this.

I am trying to get mermaids by putting a mermaid statue into a tank of water. The problem is, i have been playing for a long time and have yet to unlock a mermaid statue or tank.

I remember watching Superman as a kid, and the opening credits seemed to take forever. Last night, I watched the opening credits for CondorMan and experienced the same thing. Plus, the film portrayed no story during the credits (unlike the Fugitive where credits rolled for a long time but during the movie’s intro story). Now credits seem to be less noticeable. I’m wondering why the older movies seemed to spend so much time on opening credits.

i just need it as a prop for a photo. It doesn’t need to last a long time. Infact it would be best if it’s just paper and glitter and stuff.

When I was a little kid my great grandma had these halloween decorations there were cut out of wonder bread packages. They all were little pieces of bread but with monster like features. They also had bread/monster names like "Sandwitch". I’ve tried looking all over for pictures of these on the web for a long time and I cannot seem to find them. If someone can find them for me that would be awesome! I’m sure they were from the 80′s. But maybe from the 70′s but I doubt it.
