Because, I haven’t read the Harry Potter books, my criticism is based, mainly on the movie version of the character of Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe…
For me, the character of Harry Potter is becoming too proud, watching the first movie, the Sorcerer’s Stone, to the third movie, the Prisoner of Azkaban, I like the character of Harry Potter…
But from the fourth film, the Goblet of Fire, to the latest movie, the Half Blood Prince, the character of Harry Potter is becoming too proud of himself, and getting a bit boastful to be honest…
What are your opinions?

I am convinced that the Harry Potter books are intended to introduce children to witchcraft by showing such evil deeds in a child-friendly, humorous light. Rowling is covering up her true agenda of indoctrination with "fantasy". I am afraid that my children will find these horrid, Satanic books at their school library and read them.
What should I do as a responsible mother?

Voldemort seems to be a representation of Satan.
Dressed up as "fantasy" in Rowling’s sick head.

I don’t read Harry Potter books (sorry!) so I don’t know anything about HP. Can anyone tell me about things that I could possibly make? Like, as a project? I’m good with electronics and wood (and pretty much a lot of other stuff, whatever). Thanks in advance!

I mean the Harry Potter series is still very popular. So can anyone write a witch based fantasy with out being acused of feeding off of J.K. Rowling’s left overs? Did this one series kill the chance of another series? Not that I don’t like the Harry Potter books and movies, I do. That is the problem. She has set such a high standard with the books, I just don’t know if another author could to the same. Or if people would give them a chance.

What are the reasons why Harry Potter books and movies have been such a phenomenal success? Why do some people want to ban these books and movies?

For Halloween, I love to be something really random and if I can, funny… I’ve already been everything that is related to things I love (like Hermione Granger since I’m obsessed with Harry Potter books)… and I was supposed to be Spiderman this year, but because of certain things happening, I’m not going to be him anymore…
I’m a girl and I’m 13 and I was wondering what would be a good costume for me that is funny and that is worth wearing and won’t be terribly embarrassing… I know it’s early for this question, but if I choose now and it needs to be put together by hand, then I’ll have the time..
So please, give me some suggestions!? It has to be appropriate so I can wear it to school. (nothing showing too much skin or whatever)
It’s also fun to dress like a gothic something… I love scaring my friends by dressing gothic.

Why do the UK and US version of the Harry Potter books have different covers? Why are there different versions of the book? I know that they change some of the language to make it easier for those in the US to understand (i.e. some Americans don’t understand some of the phrases used in the UK) but why do they have to change it? I think it should be printed the same as JKR wrote it no matter where it is released.

I’ve read all of the Harry Potter books and have seen all of the movies. I’m rereading the series again and popping up with A LOT of questions. Can anyone help? These are just for Book 3:
1) Why is Proffesor Lupin the only proffesor to take the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts?
2) How long is the train ride to Hogwarts?
3) Why doesn’t Dumbledore allow Proffesor Snape to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts? Surely Dumbledore isn’t worried about the superstition of the job being jinxed (therefore preventing anything tragic from happening to Severus Snape)?
4) What does a Gamekeeper do exactly?

Loved the Harry Potter books and the Twilight series by Meyer. I’ve also read The Da Vinci Code and enjoyed that. If someone can give me suggestions that are similar reads to these books and are more for late teens/early 20′s readers I’d appreciate it.

I’m thinking about reading the Harry Potter books. Mainly because I’ve heard for years how good they are, and I love to read, so I’m deciding to try them. Just wanted to gets some facts strait before I go find them.

The books don’t neccesarily have to involve magic or fantasy. My favorite things about the Harry Potter books are the amazing characters, the adventures, and the mysteries that are solved with logic. Does anybody know of books simliar to HP that are like that? I need something good to read now that Harry Potter is over! Thanks in advance !
