Get 3 blocks of cheese, cheddar, Colby-jack & any white one, triangular crackers like Triscuits, & sour cream. Make one cracker first for practice. Cut a 1/4" thick slice of each cheese, cut a cracker-size piece from each. Cut each pc crossways. Spread the cracker with s. cream, place cheese in candy corn style colors. Sometimes the cheddar, for example, will be at the tip, middle, or wide end. This is visually better, more variety. Put little bowls of olives, pepperoni slices, etc. on the side.

My son is 10 but he likes cowboy stuff. He has a cowboy hat, clothes, and a rope. Any ideas on how to tie in a cowboy theme into his bedroom. I don’t want anything too baby-ish. Something he can grow into his teenage years.
Also, what paint colors would look good with this theme?

It’s kinda like a zombie Frankensteinish thing. First, I’ll cut the sleeves off a long sleeve white thermal and sew it onto another’s sleeve to make the sleeves extra long. I’ll put unnecessary stitching all over it. Second, for my face, I’m going to get putty and make scars all over myself but add real stitches to it to make it look like I’ve been stitched together. Then, I’ll apply different shades of blue to my face and neck. For my mouth, I thought I’d use elastic string to sewing it shut using the putty to hold it in place with some glue or something; tell me what the something could be. I’m also thinking of using the same stitching method on my eyes. The elastic would allow me to open my mouth and eyes when I want to but make it look like I have to tear my mouth open to talk. Finally, for the pants, I’ll get some old pants, cut them and cross colors with stitching. Could I work this out? If not, could, I get other suggestions for scary costumes? I’m 14.

I’m in a musical production of Peter Pan in a local production group and I’m going to be one of the pirates. I’m in need of simple pirate costume ideas because I have to make the whole thing on my own pretty much.
I have a few ideas in mind like getting gaucho pants in a solid color and tearing them up a bit to look like rags. I’m also thinking about wearing a striped shirt, and a vest over it. The colors I’m going with are either red, purple, or green with black. I’m not exactly sure if those are any good.
Also, I need some ideas for shoes, and accessories.
Help?
I need to start making it soon because I need to start bringing my costume to rehearsals next week or the week after.

I just painted my walls a rich deep pumpkin color (it is Behr "sesame crunch"). I purchased some chocolate brown tab panels for the windows. I have also purchased off-white fabric for large pillows to go on my light brown couch. I also have some green plants… I really would love to hear your thoughts on what textures/colors would look good? Thanks!
I never even thought of adding a dash of blue, that is a great idea!

My husband would like a pumpkin colored room (think Starbucks colors) and I can’t seem to find the right shade. I looked online and found some great colors but when I went to Home Depot they looked completely different. I’m thinking of Sweet Mandarin (s-G-220) but a little lighter maybe? Can anyone help?
Also I’m thinking of adding a tiny area of a brighter orange. So if anyone can suggest a color that would look good with a Chartreuse (more yellow tones than green – think glow in the dark bone -lol)? The rooms would be seperated but I’d like them to look okay anyway.
Thank you!
um that’s glow-in-the-dark…
I guess not everyone has a glow in the dark dog bone – lol…too many paint fumes!
Thanks twstdlzrd211. The trouble is I really don’t know where to start with the color. I’m thinking something like your background color!
Kind of joking about the color…it’s like this paint: http://www.homevisions.com/hvprod/prod_display1.asp?Product=85636&partner=108&CMB=&CP=00&pp=yes&afsrc=1&placeID=hvblog
just a little more yellow.
Okay to be exact it’s called "Pear" 400A-3
