Should Heath Ledger Receive A Posthumous Oscar For The Dark Knight Role? If you believe so, who would you like to receive it on his behalf? I would love to see his daughter accept it if she was old enough.

Hi
I was not a devoted fan but read a lot about him after his death. After reading about him I began looking at smaller movies which many have probably not seen. He was truly gifted in many ways. He did a great job in TDK and made the character real.
However, it would be interesting to see how the movie would have faired had he not died. I would nominate him for an Oscar – he defined the movie. It would be pretty awesome for his daughter to accept the Oscar on his behalf accompanied by her God Father.
Hell yeah he did a better job than Jack Nicholson, and i thought that no one could do a better job than Jack. But i was wrong.
I think his daughter and her mother should accept the oscar for him.
No.
He did a fantastic Joker, but sorry to say, I don’t think it’s an Oscar-worthy role. As the saying goes, Hollywood doesn’t like to hug dead people.
Take a look at the posthumous nominees and the ONE winner. I don’t think it’s happening.
**I’ve heard numerous people say they didn’t care when he died until they watched The Dark Knight. That right there should speak volumes.
Heath Ledger has only ever been an "average" actor in my opinion in previous movies. But after seeing the Dark Knight, and his role as the Joker, I have to say, I have since changed my mind. He actually made that movie, and I am sure there will be an oscar for him.
I think it would be wonderful for his daughter to accept it, but she is still fairly young and I am sure would not understand what it was all about.
I am completely in favor of nominating him for an Oscar posthumously, though I’d like it to be based on the merit of the acting, rather than because he died.
His family would be the perfect people to accept.
Yes he most definitely should. I agree that it would be beautiful for Matilda and Michelle to go up together. Matilda’s a little young [3] to go alone but she and michelle could make a beautiful speech. I would cry. He was amazing as the Joker. I just hope some weird not-widely-known actor doesnt win instead. The dark knight is one of my fave movies.
yes, i really think that heath ledger should recieve an oscar for his role as the joker, he totally blew me away every time i saw it. I saw it 4 times and he blew me away all 4 times. RIP Heath Ledger
Oh my GOSH!!! YES!!! Heath Ledger was super PHENOMENAL! The Joker was the BEST film character in the whole history of film characters. I think his family should go up and accept the award, I think it’s a GREAT idea to have his daughter accept the award.
He should get an Oscar…… he changed things forever
Heath Ledger deserves every single ****ing award in the whole world
RIP<3
Heck yes Heath Ledger should receive a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker! He completely played that part as though he was an "agent of chaos" all his life! He did a fantastic job of playing the Joker as the twisted, psychotic mind he is, as opposed to just a clown with no better hobby. He made it seem as though someone could really be that crazy so yes, Heath Ledger deserves a Posthumous Oscar for the part he played in The Dark Knight. And I agree, it would be heart-warming for little Matilda Ledger to accept on her late father’s behalf. Although she is not old enough to do it on her own, her mother, Michelle Williams, can definitely go up there with her and accept it.
Yes. He deserves it.
His impersonation of The Joker was amazing.
He deserves more than an Oscar for that.
Well, i have not seen the film. I am not ready to see it yet.
But … YES, i absolutely think he should. He was a very gifted and talented actor and a nice guy and a premature death shouldn’t deny him the reward for a decent performance.
I don’t know who should accept it …. but most likely a member of his family would be best. IF his daughter was old enough, that would be sweet …. i disagree on Michelle Williams accepting it; but personally i think it should be immediate family; in any case; he deserves an award.
I am sure the film was decent. But i probably will not look on it for a long while.
xD
♥
yes, i think his family ( Michelle Williams, and Matilda should go on stage ) to accept it. i think he would like his daughter to be on stage for him.
he did so good
DEFINITELY! IF he doesn’t, I will NEVER watch the oscars again…. I think his daughter is a GREAT idea to accept the award.
i would cry. heath ledger is one of the greatest actors of all time if you ask me. i mean.. look at his performance in brokeback mountain and then in batman… he’s so believable in both! wowowowow.. i’m gonna miss him.
I think he should receive one because the way he acted as the joker was amazing. I think if the person who should receive it would be either Michelle Williams (ex-wife), Matilda (his daughter) or one of his best buds Jake Gyllenhaal.
You really have to wait till "Oscar Season" of movie releases, evaluate the performances in those movies, and then compare them to Heath’s. If the Academy Awards were to happen today though, he’d probably win.
He did very well. I think that honoring him all though he has passed away is a very nice gesture. I think it would be an honorable thing for his daughter to accept it on his behalf
I believe that particular award is reserved for GOOD actors. Not chumps whose only claim to fame is being a dope fiend and starring in crappy kid’s movies.
he should get an award he was amazing in that role. and i agree his daughter should accept it on his behalf.
ofcourse he is going to win the oscar.
It would be wonderful for his wife and duaghter to reciever it!
heath ledger and his family completey deserve it!
i never cared that heath ledger died until i saw dark knight.
then i saw all the movies he was in (except for brokeback mountain… not interested in the plot)
he is an amazing actor.
Yes and No. If it’s for his performance, I don’t have a problem. But if it’s because he’s dead, then they should give Brad Renfro one, too, since he died a week before Ledger.
yes i do
