How about a "post-Halloween" party? Or it could be an "autumn get together", or a "fall bash"?? Sounds like fun, and a great idea! Often times the weekend before Halloween is too busy for a party anyway!
just modify some sheets into KKK uniforms, cheap and effective.
If you want something scary. Have a Christmas party during halloween!
I would call it a halloween party but reserve the right as the hosts that you choose not to wear one. Then you can have some fun little games (just for fun) and be able to host the games without accually participating in them. Then watch the fun and take some pictures to remember the fun later on.
I’m having a party but leave all decorations up. Oh and why don’t you make your own costumes or have a t-shirt saying "this is my costume, deal with it." or something ya know
Have a "Mixed Nuts" party.
Come as you are…
or come on a dare…
Have a late night judging of most "original" whatever…
If you aren’t doing costumes I woldn’t expect yor guests to do so. I would stick to a Fall Fun Harvest (hay bales, cider, pumpkins & sqaush, orange- browns-dark red decor colors )
If you do games for kids (or young at heart)can still do apple dunking- mini pumpkin decorating contest,
Adults can play "What’s in the Bag" get large burlap type bag (fall theme) and in small paper lunch bags fill a bunch with small wearable trinkets– bright colored head band or clip on earrings, baby bib, pacifier, men’s (new) boxers, tie, leis, a sign that says I’ll do anything for a …., anything a bit outrageous and put all indiv bags in the large burlap bag…each guest has to reach in pull out a sm bag and wear for the party what they picked out of bag
Or the Just Say Yes (or No) Game– you decide if answer should be yes or no for the party… each guest is given some tokens or safety pins when they get there (say about 5-10 ea). Rules are guests can walk up and ask you any question– if you answer no (or yes depending on which you decided) they have to lose a pin or token. One with most collected at end of night wins prize. So for example- I pick You can’t answer No to any question without losing a pin..so I would ask another guest ( a guy) "Hey didn’t I see you at the club in your pink ballet slippers and tutu last week? As embarrassing as it will be he has to answer "Yes" or lose a pin. you’ll see how some folks would rather lose the pin than say No… plus your guests will get creative in trying to catch everyone off guard with their questions.
As for food- if doing burgers and beer you can have guest bring their fav end of summer dish or fall favorite. I’d also grill some veggies to add to burger menu and grilled fruit (bananas- peaches- pears- plums) as dessert addition with ice cream. This will add some pizzazz to just burgers and beer
Be creative and have fun! MAin thing is everyone has fun while they are there
