How Long does it take to do Disney World.?

3 of my friends and I are planning to go to Disney-world for graduation in 2011 and were wondering how long we should plan to spend in the parks
We don’t plan to go to any of the water parks, just The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom.
We would also like at least half a day shopping in Downtown Disney.
We’re planning to go in July, which I know is peak season, so the parks may be busy. And we’re also planning to stay in a disney hotel, so we get the extra time in the morning and at night.
What would you recommend?

On average, most people plan one full day for Hollywood Studios, one full day for Animal Kingdom, two full days for Magic Kingdom, and two full days for Epcot. And you still won’t see it all. It’s better to just read up and see what will work for you and what you want to do. By-the-way, while crowds are important, it is more important to have a good plan. Stay for a week. You’ll get to do everything. EVERYTHING.
And if you want to do alot in one day, when you purchase the tickets, make sure to add the Park Hopper option so you can flip flop to different parks a day.
Well me and my boyfriend are planning to do all four parks in two days. We are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel so we get to use the extra magic evening hours. We’re doing Animal Kingdom and Epcot the first day, and MGM and Magic Kingdom the second day. We have both been before and since it’s just the two of us, we can skip over the rides we don’t like.
If you like to go fast this would be a good way to do it but if not a week should be enough time.
oh man you are talking like a 3-4-5 day trip.

so i would set aside a week for this trip.
itll be worth it though.

It’ll take more than one day to do what you guys are planning to do.
In July, the parks surprisingly aren’t that busy. It’s nothing like Christmas or New Years, trust me. I’ve been. It is right after Star Wars Weekend has ended and before the Food and Wine Festival begins, so it’s a good time to go.
Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, you can do in a day. Roughly a morning if you take advantage of the Early Morning Hours.
What I usually do when I’m in Disney is doing one of the smaller parks in the morning, and then eating lunch at a resort, then heading to Epcot. Epcot is HUGE, and unless you feel like walking a lot in one day, I suggest you do this in separate days. Remember that the tickets get cheaper per day the more days you go. Downtown Disney opens up at 10 am, buses begin running at 9:15-9:30. You can make a morning (or night of that). You can head to a park in the morning, catch a bus to the Saratoga Springs and take a boat to Downtown Disney, or you can go to your resort and catch a bus. It depends on if you want fast or leisurely. You can eat lunch at one of the many yummy restaurants in Downtown Disney and shop all night. House of Blues also has concerts nightly.
I’ve been there over 20 times and I’d say you can knock out the parks in 3 days. W/ the extra magic hours it gives you a ridiculous amount of time to accomplish everything you wanna do. So I’d say 3 days if you got the park hopper if not than 4. But you can seriously knock out 2 parks in a day if you’ve been before and only like certain things.
magic kingdom- 2 days
epcot- 1 day
hollywood studios- 1 day
animal kingdom- 1/2-3/4 of a day
one day to relax in the morning and early afternoon and then go to downtown disney for a few hours.
so about 6 days in total.
and depending on your budget i recommend these disney world hotels.
value resort (least expensive)- POP CENTURY
moderate resort (moderately priced)-PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER
deluxe resort (most expensive)- THE CONTEMPORARY
Honestly, I’ve been to Disney over 20 times in my life and have never done all Disney World has to offer.
Magic Kingdom is a large park and if you want to do it all, it will take you at least two days especially during a busy season. Epcot is also large and if you want to do the walk around the World Showcase it will take extra time. Animal Kingdom has easily be done in one day, don’t go their when it’s raining there is nowhere to hide. Hollywood Studios will take you two days if you want to see every show they have to offer, if you just want to pick and chose, one day will be fine. Downtown Disney is sort of funner to shop at night with all the lights and nightlife going on.

Well, I would recommend doing a 7 day trip. This allows you some time to relax and enjoy Orlando/Disney property. If you drive down, you could even drive to Clearwater Beach, or go shopping at the outlets! Downtown Disney doesn’t have much non-Disney merch. If you don’t, you can choose to go back to your favourite parks! I would get a 5 Day park hopper + water parks & more fun option added on to your passes. Look for some promo’s like Buy 4 Nights, Get 3 Nights free, and the Disney dining plan.

You can add it on to your Disney passes. They are for sure worth going to. My friend and I went on our last trip to Florida (June 27-July 11) and fell in love with Typhoon Lagoon! (if you miss the beach, this is the place to go) and Blizzard Beach has some awesome "thrill" water slides! We went July 3rd, and the parks were closed to capacity (waterparks). The parks close to capacity on July 4th. Seriously, busy busy busy (the above poster probably hasn’t been around July 4th if they say it’s not busy).
The parks WILL be busy. It is one of the busiest times of the year. Save money by staying at the Value resorts. All the magic of Disney, for a budget! Plus, you get use of Extra Magic Hours and Disney transportation. If you fly you can use the Magical Express. Moderate resorts are nicer, and I would go with Port Orleans French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach. As for Deluxe, Beach Club wins hands down because of Stormalong Bay (sand bottom pool)

We go for 2 weeks every year and it isn’t long enough. You need at least one week no less
It will take you a week to at least experience all of what you want to do. If you want to see and ride everything, it will take you longer.
I actually just came back from Disney on July 19 th and I would suggest staying for at least a week. The parks were crowded and the waits were on average about 90 minutes for some of the bigger rides like Splash Mountain and Test Track. But if you take advantage of the morning and afternoon magic hours and fast passes you will be able to do all of the major attractions in 1 park in about a half of day! We just did all four parks in two days! Granted we skipped some of the smaller rides but it can be done. Check out my guide below. I would honestly go for as long as your budget allows, I have been to Disney almost every year since I was born (I’m now 23) and I’ve been at all different times, stayed at different hotels and gone as a family trip, a friends trip and just me and my boyfriend. While July isn’t as crowded as Christmas, it is still crowded and HOT! So I would suggest the following plan: Stay at a Disney hotel so you can use their transportation, extra magic hours and pool, I would also get the park hopper tickets and get to one park when it opens in the morning use your fastpass to do as many attractions as you can by lunch and then leave and go back to your hotel to relax by the pool (the heat and crowds are the worst in the afternoon and you’ll be glad to have the time to cool down and rest) After your day at the pool, go to a different park at night for dinner and more attractions (make dinner reservations as far in advance as you can as they fill up very fast) My boyfriend and I used this system when we went last September and we were able to go to each park more than once, downtown, and a waterpark in 5nights/6days. I would recommend joining a disney discussion board so that disney experts can answer all of your questions and you can see their trip reports, touring plans and suggestions, I use disboards.com and it’s really great!
