Have people forgotten about Halloween this year?

In my neighborhood, I’m seeing almost no Halloween decorations. I’m not seeing that many Halloween commercials on TV. I’m not hearing people talk about the big night. Is it just me, or are people bypassing Halloween this year?

I must say, I noticed the same thing in my own neighborhood. Usually, everyone is all excited about it and people have some nice decorations up, but I noticed that it isn’t like that this year.
I think that it is because of the financial situations and what not. I know the only reason we aren’t decorating is because we have no money. I think another reason for the lack of spirit is because people are getting so caught up in the stresses of their lives, it leaves them a lot less time to focus on less important, not-so family oriented holidays, such as halloween…
well this is a very tight year (financially wise) and most people like me kinda lost the spirit! Hopefully Christmas won’t be so bad!
I honestly feel diversity plays a role in this. It’s a very north-american tradition and new immigrants don’t usually "celebrate". Just my observation.
Ye! It is really weird people just don’t like trick’in and treat’in. I still do it, I think it just matters on what the person feels like doing on Halloween.
I hope this helped you out bro!

economy is bad right now. money problems might be the biggest thing.
also we still have about 2 weeks, im sure the commercials will come within a week. sadly, i dont think im going to be doing anything either.
yeah. theres no decorations in my neighborhood either. even last year. nobody came to my house to trick or treat . it was weird. but i love Halloween and hope people get in the spirit. yes, the economy is bad, but how much could it possibly be to get some candy and a costume. make one if you have to. use last years decorations. geez
Yes it definitely seems like people are downplaying it this year. I think its because the economy is not to good right now and people don’t want to spend extra money on costumes and decorations.
I feel the same way halloween isn’t really important this year to anybody, its sad but everybody is all stressed out over financial issues. We seem to be the only two who are thinking about it.
ha yeah I guess. There was only one other person in my neighborhood who put up Halloween decorations. And I don’t think I have ever seen a Halloween commercial before… No one is talking about Halloween in my school either but maybe that is just because we are all getting a little too old for it
I haven’t forgotten about halloween. I always remember halloween.
Happy holloween everyone.
my neigbor has a pumpkin and a house around the corner has a lame ghost hanging from a tree and i saw a commercial for snicker bars. does this all add up to enough halloween hoopla? its sucky here too. i have always decorated for halloween. so much in fact we have made the front page news and won several best decorated house contests, our street had to be blocked off from cars because of the people that came, the cops hung out on bicycles to ensure safety and even came in to eat the food i had out for everyone. the neighbors all gave me their candy bills because they had to start buying so much due to the increase in trick or treaters. but once i started putting a keg in the yard each year they didn’t complain anymore. but that was before i moved to this dried up ol town i am in now. awww good times. we don’t even get trick or treaters here so we don’t decorate. we are thinking we might put some of it up this weekend tho.
its the economy….seriously, i hope Christmas wont be as depressing as Halloween…
