I think you might be being misguided. 500 books were sold initially because they didn’t think the book would do as well as it did. Furthermore, after sales boomed they made more books but never changed the name of it. American versions have always been titled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", and British versions were and still are named "Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone" so I’m not sure where you saw someone bought it for $18,000 but I think it might just be a rumor. You can look on Amazon.com and still see that books titled "Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone" are still being sold. Maybe there was a book sold for $18,000 but maybe it was just the first printing. Hope I cleared things up and if I’m wrong then wow, you’re lucky!!
the only aution site i use is Ebay, and i think it’s a great one!
not sure on how much you could get, some people will pay big money for things like that!
I’m not so sure about the site. But I guess you could get big money for it… I know some people would pay a lot for that one…
u cud use ebay or u cud go n post this on some harry potter fan site b/c u might find some1 who will pay a lot for this. u cud also go to a bookstore website, preferably some big n famous one, who cud be willing to buy the book.
This is the site I would recommend as they are the biggest auction of art an memorabilia. They also sold the star trec collection not long ago and have a lot of collectors buying from them. Look into them and find a broker willing to sell the item so you can get the best price. Happy selling and hope it brings a good price.
Save it! That book will be worth more and more as time goes on. Hold on to it for now and wait until the price goes up!
Wait… What?
The title for America has always been HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and the title for England has always been HP and the Philosopher’s Stone.
yes, im pretty sure that the 2 ppl above me are correct, the US version has always been Sorcerer’s Stone and the British version has always been Philosopher’s Stone. My best friend is from England and has the Philosopher’s Stone book as well. but yeah, im pretty sure the name didn’t ever change in England.
All the UK copies are called Harry Potter and the Philophers Stone, not just the first 500. They changed the title for the US edition because they thought American kids wouldn’t understand what a philosopher is. I think they were being very patronising, personally….
Most of them are philosophers stone I also have one, so do my cousins, my friends, my school and everyone.
