Halloween Costume? Sally and Vampire?
Okay, so for Halloween this year, I was thinking about being either Sally from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ or a vampire. I can’t decide, which would be why I would like your opinion. And how to make these costumes. I reeeeaaaaly want to have a good costume for halloween this year.
The store bought ones look stupid…
and I was thinking I would take an old dress, i never wear, and go to a store, by some plain fabric in different colors and draw like swirls and things. and do patchwork.

I think you should be Sally because to be honest, Vampires are really cool for Halloween, but they’re also kind of cliche. Sally would be a really good original idea.
sally i think it will be a good costume cuz i havent seen anyone dress like sally in my neighbor hood
You should be Sally. Its more unique. Everyone is going to be a vampire this year because of Twilight.
Here is one for 26.99

I also think that Sally would be a better costume. Vampires are awesome, but overdone.
If you want to buy a costume, I’d recommend this one: http://www.partycity.com/product/costumes+%26+accessories/teen+girls/tv%2C+movies%2C+cartoons/nightmare+before+christmas+sally+costume+teen.do?search=basic&keyword=sally&sortby=priceAscend&page=1 It’s one of the better prices I’ve found online.
If you’re rather MAKE your costume, I’d suggest using the store bought one as a reference. If you have a nice little sundress from summer, you can take patchwork swatches of fabric (very cheap at the Wal-Mart craft department) and safety pin them onto the sundress to make it look more quilted. Sally goes barefoot in the movie, so I’d suggest ether flip-flops (if it isn’t too cold where you live) or Mary Janes. For her hair, I WOULD suggest buying a yarn wig (very easy to find at Wal-Mart or Target once the Halloween section is up), or you could use red spray-in dye.
As for makeup, I’d just buy the makeup cream from the Halloween section at Wal-Mart or Target, and either some black paint or a Wet n’ Wild Body Crayon (I highly recommend these, they are awesome). They can usually be found in the makeup department OR in the Halloween section, usually in little tubs filled with them. They come in black, red and shimmery green.
Good luck, and happy haunting!
