I bought my 4 month old daughter a halloween costume from Target. She will be about 5.5 months old on halloween. is it silly to take her trick or treating? I have a friend who is taking her 2 year old and wants some company.
i guess my real question is will those handin out the candy think i am just there to get candy for me?

Your baby won’t care about it, but your friend will appreciate it. And, I think the people handing out the candy will love to see her.
Its not silly…the kid may not be able to eat the candy but you can sure enjoy it. And besides you are a parent and want to show of ur cute lil one in her costume so why not. Im taking my 10 month old.
No way! You’ll have tons of fun! Plus you get the candy this time!! hehe…My son is 8 1/2 months old and we’re taking him trick or treating.
yea it is cool.
I think it would be a little silly if you went alone with that young of a child, but since you are going with your friend and a child that is of actual candy eating age, I don’t see a problem. Just have fun!
If you don’t mind shamelessly showing your kid off then go for it.
nah! just make sure to keep her warm is really all! im buyin my little baby a halloween costume too! have fun =)
My sister in law took her son who was about 3month old at the time to all of the relatives for Halloweeen. He was so adorable. HE was a ear of corn
no, I took my six month old in a farmer’s outfit… one with a straw hat, overalls and a checkerboard shirt, all the stuff I had but I took him out with some friends who wanted company just like yours does… I would just watch out to make sure he isn’t eating the wrong kind of candy…
I have mixed feelings about this. I think the baby will look cute and all, but I don’t think getting all dressed up and being taken door to door on an autumn night is the best thing to do with a 5 month old.
I bought my 5 month old a costume. i just ordered it on line yesterday! What did you get?
I do not think it is silly.Halloween is a perfect opportunity time for some cute pictures!
Halloween is usually all about the kids. People giving out the candy love to see them in their costumes. Who wouldn’t love to see a baby in her costume? Besides, you’ll enjoy all the compliments, and your friend would probably appreciate the company.
The people giving out candy don’t really care who it’s for. If they do, then their just greedy and shouldn’t be giving it out to begin with.
I took my daughter last year and she was only 1 month. I did have a 2 year old also, but i still dressed her and let her get a little candy. I figured it out after a few houses, i would take my son up and her without her a bucket. The people would say here’s a sucker for the baby, or here get something for the little one. So they’re willing to give it to the little and want to. Take her out and let her have fun seeing all the different "creatures" and lights and stuff.
You can dress your daughter up and walk around with your friend without collecting candy.
Why not! As long as it’s not cold, etc it’s cute! And besides go for a little while and have a nice time with your friend. I am taking my 9 month old just around the neighborhood because everyone is expecting to see him. Maybe you can put a smile on someones face. But I wouldn’t expect candy, go buy your own. Just have fun, enjoy your time out.
same age baby and we r going
Yes they obviously will think the candy is for you…your baby cant eat it. I think its fine to take your baby with your friend to keep her company but I dont think you should "trick or treat" (no candy).
Take her!! I have the cutest picture of my youngest asleep in her Halloween costume in her car seat on my fridge , I love it. She was about that age and my oldest was 2 1/2.
I love to see the little ones dressed up, even the littlest ones.
I will get my baby a costume but I am not going to take him Trick or Treating. He is not going to eat the candy and I don’t need to eat it….I will just dress him up to hand out candy. It is also pretty cold at that time where I live so he can just help pass it out..
In your situation since you will be going with someone else then why not!!
If your baby is cute, I will hook you up with as much candy as I have. You should enter your baby and costume into this contest at http://www.brickfish.com/music/starcostumes
Noooo! Take the baby. People love seeing babies. Especially in costume.
One thing that my friend did was to dress up as a nurse on Halloween and she took my month old baby around like she was a maternity nurse. It was really cute.
If you feel bad about taking the candy then just don’t take any. Go with your friend and show the baby off but don’t take any candy.
