Good ways to make myself a pirate costume for Halloween?
I know its a bit early to be starting to think about Halloween costumes, but since I pretty much don’t have any money to spend on my costumes it takes a good amount of time to decide what I can through together.
This year I want to be a pirate. I have this pair of red pajama pants they have a little string thing, but I can always tuck that underneath. I’ve got a stud belt that I figured I’d wear sort of sideways if I can (pants have no loops, dunno what I’ll be capable of doing yet) and put a chain of somesort on it. Probably a plain black t-shirt and I dunno what to wear around my neck, and of course I’d have to buy a pirate hat. I kind of am thinking of maybe buying a black skirt to go over the pants but I’m not sure. I only have sneakers and I can’t buy like pirate boots lol.
I know that sounds really bad right now, so can you guys give me some suggestions on improving this costume idea? I’m older so I need to make it look like a actually put some effort into my costume so I don’t piss people off that I’m still out trick or treating at 17

The first thing I think when I think pirate is striped pants or a ragged striped skirt. You could look around thrift stores for ideas too. For a shirt, maybe see if you can find a cheap, solid color peasant shirt with puffy sleeves. You don’t really need a pirate hat unless you want one. A red or black scarf would work just fine. i was thinking instead of pantts you can have a dress or a skirt.. that is black.. and maybe have a gold belt that is lopsided it to …. um pirtaeshave some patterns on it.. so maybe a red and white stripe should go to the side of the skirt.. idk
have something to tie around ur head. or eye… like bandanas coul;d be good but have just something to cover it… um have long boots about knee or a lil lower but not low boots. boots that are tall enough to fold a lil.. they need to be black.. and also of course a pirate hat,,,

and follow what they are wearing,,, and if u have pants make sure they are those kind of pants(dress pants) that dont go all the way down to ur fett. but are like at least 2 or 3inches above ur feet and they swing side to side…
when i think of pirate i think of stripes.. red and white or black and white..
also try getting a vest too and with the pants im talking about if ur not geting a skirt or dress. and under the vest have an all white shirt that is long sleeved and is kinda puffy or lose at the hand part.. and poffy at the top
