Favorite movie villain?

I love Darth Vader. He’s so deep, and has so much conflict within his soul. His costume is also very menacing but it was really interesting how on the outside he was so menacing with his dark and deep voice and his look but in the end when Luke took his helmet off he just looked like an old man who had lived a long, tragic life.

The Joker
Hannibal Lec tor
Voldemort
Sauron
Hannibal Lecter
D-Fens from the movie Falling Down.
- Agreed. Darth Vader is definitely one of the best villains. Such a deep character.
- I believe Joker (Heath Ledger) did an amazing job. With the interrogation scene, I’m pretty sure alot of people agreed with his sinister/realistic views of people.
- Hall 9000 in 2001: A Space Odyssey. At the time it was genius to come up with a non-living villain. An evil robot.
- Kevin Spacey in Se7en. After the head in the box, you just have to agree with Brad Pitt.
Max Cady.
Robert Mitchum
Cape Fear (1962)
My Top 5 (in alphabetical order):
- Alien ("Alien")
- Hannibal Lecter ("The Silence of the Lambs", played by Anthony Hopkins)
- Michael Corleone ("The Godfather" trilogy, played by Al Pacino)
- Travis Bickle ("Taxi Driver", played by Robert De Niro)
- Twins ("The Matrix Reloaded", played by Neil and Adrian Rayment)
I’d like to mention William Foster (aka D-Fens) from "Falling Down" (played by Michael Douglas). Not a typical villain, but…
Voldemort
Star Trek II
"Khan"
loved Ricardo Montalban
Wow LilyRT, I would have never had though about that old machine."Im afraid I can’t do that Dave." Classic!!!
Im going to have to go with Darth Vader, no competition.
Honorable mentions-Both Jokers- Ledger’s and Nicholson (let’s put it this way, if Nicholson wouldn’t have done what he did, Ledger would of never thought of doing what he did.)
Freddy Krueger
Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in Iron Man 2
That’s really hard to answer.
I just love Hal9000. I can’t even look at him as a villain. he’s just trying to survive. and it’s a stroke of genius that he’s actually more charismatic than the astronauts.
"I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I’ve still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you."
