Cheerleader?

Im gonna become a cheer leader. Does anyone know what is required to be a cheerleader? And can you tell me how to do it.
I’m pretty good at flying. I’m trying out with girls that are bigger than me, will that be good or a problem? I really want to be flyer. Only 2-5 other girls that are smaller (height wise and weight wise) are trying out.

manly, If you can do big gymnastic runs, your definatly in.
You have to be fit and stand out. Being better is good and just practice outside of your squad practices.
There are only a few things that you need, and one is optional.
1.) Be Loud
-The judges are looking for girls that are loud because if you have 12 quite cheerleaders on the court no one will ever pay attention to you. You have to be loud enough so that you can yell over 1,000+ people!
2.)Jumps
-These include Toe Touches (http://cheerleading.about.com/od/jumps/l/bljump_stacyh.htm) That’s what a toe touch looks like. Don’t get frusterated if yours don’t look like that. That is a really good one.

3.) Dancing
-Cheer dancing is really nothing like Dance team dancing. In cheer its all about hitting the moves sharp and tight. It’s not flowy like a dance teams dance. For this all that is required is to be tight.
4.)Tumbling
-This is optional for some schools. Its basically backflips.
5.)Strength and Flexibility
-Make sure you are stretching every night for thirty seconds on each stretch. You also need alot of arm strength for stunting.

4 things to become a cheerleader you have to be 1) pretty 2)skinny 3)loud and 4) snobby. To do this start hanging out with the jocks and other cheerleaders and you’ll catch on.
1. You must be loud. When you are cheering, you have to make it your utmost responsibility to cheer your hardest and loudest so you can show your team you support them (and outcheer the other cheerleading team!)
2. Always have a smile on. No one is going to want a dull cheerleader who’s always sulking. Cheerleaders are the ones that are supposed to bring people the enthusiasm!
3. Be incredibly sharp. Sharp means that you nail each move perfectly and your movements aren’t sloppy and all over the place. If you’re sloppy, you won’t be in-sync with the other members of the team and that will look stupid.
4. Be flexible. The movements aren’t all that easy. We cheerleaders are expected to jump perfectly (toe touches require a lot of stretching because I’ve hurt myself so many times doing this) and flyers must be able to tighten themselves.

I don’t agree with Duke Fan. Cheerleaders aren’t all snobby. I mean yes, some are conceited and idiotic but most cheerleaders cheer because they really like to cheer and dance! And you don’t have to be skinny because… HELLO! Ever heard of a base cheerleader? All cheerleaders just need to be strong and have their heart into cheering.
