Religion has actually not been touched on too awful much. I guess that in that time period religion wasn’t as big of a deal as it is nowadays. There have been references but nothing more than passing. Except for the Klingons, their religion is central to their entire being involving characters like Kahles who is (I’m guessing) their equivalent of God/Jesus.

Also, something to keep in mind: with all of the different races and species involved there would be so many different faiths and religions that to make a big deal about ANY religion would almost be disastrous for the Federation.

They have not all been atheist. There have been numerous referrals to God. Although, the human race does acknowledge the religious beliefs of other species. As for Enterprise, I haven’t watched it that much.

well, im a new trekkie, so the best i can figure is that if they have travelled " where no man has gone before ‘ and still havent found a heaven or a god or whatever, that might have something to do with the atheist feel to it. i dont know, hope it helps
