Am I within my rights to shoot Santa if I catch him coming down the chimney?

I mean, how do I know it’s the real Santa and not just some fat guy in a Santa suit intent on stealing all the presents and thusly ruining Christmas?

I think you are treading on thin ice here. I can’t imagine
anyone BUT Santa coming down a chimney. Most burglars
use a window or a door. If you were to actually shoot the
real Santa you would a marked schmuck before the sun went
down. Kids everywhere would be gunning for you and the
parents would form such a lynch mob for making their
darlings cry. Please just set out some milk and cookies
for Santa instead. Thanks.
