I have heard lots of people say they don’t want their kids reading Harry Potter and they think that Harry Potter should be on the Ban book list. But why? If you think that Harry Potter is just brainwashing kids that witches and wizards exist, then shouldn’t we analyze everything we are letting them watch? Disney movies always have that magical touch such as flying carpets, fairy godmothers, talking statues, enchanted mice, poisoned apples, but our kids know not to believe this so what makes Harry Potter any different?

And another thing, Harry Potter is directed for older teenagers and adults and for kids in first and second grade to read these books and understand them, shouldn’t they praised for mastering a level of reading that is far beyond their level?

Hey. I love Superman ice cream, but you can’t get it in grocery stores around here. The only place I know of is any Meijers store, where it goes by the name of Scooperman. The nearest Meijers is a little far away from me (Bolingbrook). Is there any place closer I can look? I live in the Oak Lawn area.

I always thought it would be funny to go to a Halloween party disguised as a chair. I would get there before anyone else and find a place in the room where I look like just another piece of furniture. After everyone was there and the party had been going on for a while I would stand up and see everyone’s reactions.

Do you think this would work?

In my story, I am putting a masquerade ball on Halloween night. I have two main characters that are basically going to fall in love later in the story but i want it to be like a Cinderella moment.

My main character, Jasmine, she has dark skin (latina skin) and dark brown hair. I don’t want her to dress like Cinderella or anything because that story is too old. She owns a crescent moon medallion that she never takes off.

My other character, Logan, he has light skin and dark black hair. He is a mysterious person but the sight of Jasmine makes his heart beat a lot.

Here are my choices:
Jasmine: a gypsy, greek goddess, or just a plain blue dress

Logan: Zorro, Aragron costume, pirate, or romeo

That’s all i have. Pick one of them or tell me what you have in mind.

My baby boy is going to be turning two on Oct. 26th. Last year he didn’t get to have a real party because we didn’t have anybody that lived around us at the time that we knew. Well this year we are back home with all the family and I really want to give him a special party. Since I know all kids love Halloween and his birthday is so close to it I was thinking that we could do a Halloween/costume party. I’m looking to get ideas for different games, activities, and also snacks and decorations that I could have for children ages 2-8 that would be based around this theme.
